Roofing Services

Roof replacement, installation, repair & inspection

Roof Replacement in Houston

A full roof replacement is the right call when a roof is near the end of its service life, has widespread storm damage, or has developed repeated leaks that patch repairs can't keep up with. ProBuild tears off the old roofing down to the decking, inspects and replaces any damaged wood, and installs a complete system: synthetic underlayment, ice-and-water barrier at valleys and penetrations, starter strip, the shingles or panels you choose, proper flashing at every wall, chimney and vent, and ridge ventilation sized for the attic.

Most residential replacements take one to three days. We protect landscaping, haul away all debris, and finish with a magnetic sweep for nails. Installations are backed by ProBuild's 30-Year Warranty on workmanship. Manufacturer material warranties vary by product and manufacturer — we'll explain exactly which apply to the system you choose.

New Roof Installation

New construction, additions, garages, patio covers and outbuildings roofed right the first time. We coordinate with your builder or contractor on decking, drip edge, underlayment, ventilation and flashing details so the roof performs for decades — and so the manufacturer's warranty is valid from day one.

Roof Repair & Roof Leak Repair

Fast, lasting fixes for leaks, missing or damaged shingles, cracked pipe boots, failed flashing around chimneys and walls, and worn valleys — before a small problem becomes a big one. Water rarely enters where the stain shows, so we track down the true source of the leak and seal it properly, not just the spot you can see.

If a repair isn't the right long-term answer, we'll tell you why and show you the photos. See our repair-or-replace guide or the full Houston roof repair guide.

Roofing Systems

Roofing systems built for Texas weather

Houston's heat, humidity, spring hail and hurricane season are hard on a roof. These are the systems we install, and how they compare.

Asphalt Shingle Roofing

The most popular roofing choice for Houston homes. Architectural (dimensional) shingles offer a thicker, layered look, higher wind ratings and typical service lives of 20–30 years; 3-tab shingles are the budget option. Impact-resistant (UL 2218 Class 4) shingles stand up better to hail and may qualify for a homeowners insurance discount in Texas — ask your carrier. Available in a wide range of colors and manufacturer warranty tiers. Compare shingle types in the asphalt shingle guide.

Metal Roofing

Durable, energy-efficient standing-seam and exposed-fastener panel systems built for Houston heat and wind. Metal reflects solar heat, sheds rain quickly, resists wind uplift, and commonly lasts 40 years or more with minimal maintenance. Standing-seam systems hide the fasteners for the cleanest look and the fewest potential leak points.

Flat & Low-Slope Roofing (TPO & Modified Bitumen)

Flat and low-slope roofs need membrane systems, not shingles. TPO is a white, reflective single-ply membrane with heat-welded seams that lowers cooling loads on commercial buildings and flat-roof homes. Modified bitumen is a multi-layer asphalt system that is tough underfoot and easy to repair. Proper drainage and flashing details matter more than anything else on a low-slope roof — that's where we focus.

Tile Roofing

Clay and concrete tile for standout curb appeal and exceptional longevity — tile roofs commonly last 50 years or more. Tile is heavy, so the structure must be rated for it, and the underlayment beneath the tile usually needs replacement long before the tile itself does. We handle both tile repair and full re-roofs.

Storm & Insurance

Storm damage roof restoration

Complete restoration after wind, hail and Gulf storms — from emergency tarping (when available) to documentation for your claim to the finished roof.

Hail Damage Repair

Hail bruises shingles, knocks off protective granules and dents metal vents, flashing and gutters. The damage is often invisible from the ground but shortens the roof's life and leads to leaks. After a hail storm in your area, get a free inspection and photo documentation — even if the roof looks fine from the driveway. Impact-resistant Class 4 shingles are a smart upgrade when replacing a hail-damaged roof. Read the hail damage guide.

Wind Damage Repair

Straight-line winds and storm gusts lift, crease and tear shingles, break the seal strip, and pull flashing loose — leaving openings that let water in with the next rain. We re-secure and replace damaged shingles and components, and check the whole roof for creased shingles that will fail later.

Hurricane & Tropical Storm Damage

Hurricane season runs June through November on the Texas Gulf Coast. When a storm passes, emergency tarping may be available for active roof leaks, followed by full restoration once conditions allow. Photograph damage before cleanup, keep receipts for temporary repairs, and be cautious of out-of-town "storm chaser" crews — get a written contract and verify insurance.

Roof Insurance Claim Process in Texas

Most homeowners policies cover sudden storm damage from wind and hail, subject to your deductible. Here's how a typical claim works and how ProBuild helps at each step — without the pressure.

ProBuild is a roofing contractor, not a public adjuster or an insurance company. Decisions about your claim are between you and your insurer. Under Texas law your deductible is your responsibility, and a contractor may not offer to waive, absorb or rebate it.

Materials & Manufacturers

Roofing materials we install

A roof is a system, not just shingles. ProBuild installs complete systems — underlayment, ice-and-water barrier, starter, shingles or panels, ridge cap and ventilation — to the manufacturer's specifications so the material warranty holds up.

ProBuild isn't tied to one brand. We source materials through established roofing suppliers, including ABC Supply, and help you compare manufacturers, systems, styles, performance, warranty options and budgets so you get the right roof for your home — not the one a single manufacturer wants to sell. Manufacturer warranties vary by product line and installation type; ask us which options apply to your roof.

Manufacturers & suppliers we work with

  • GAF — asphalt shingle systems
  • ABC Supply — roofing materials supplier
  • Additional manufacturer relationships in development
  • Synthetic underlayment — a tear-resistant water barrier under the shingles.
  • Ice-and-water barrier — self-sealing membrane at valleys, eaves and penetrations.
  • Starter strip & ridge cap — sealed edges that resist wind uplift.
  • Ventilation — ridge and soffit ventilation sized to the attic to lower heat and moisture.
  • Flashing — new metal flashing at walls, chimneys, skylights and vents.
  • Impact-resistant options — Class 4 shingles for hail-prone areas.
